| Abstract |
「デフレーションは純粋に貨幣的現象である」という主張を定義し, 検討する。過去に経験されたデフレについてこの主張が正しいことが示せても, 理論的には示せない。昨今の日本のデフレーションについて「構造的要因」を否定する見解があるが, 総供給のみでなく総需要に影響する「構造的要因」があることを考えても, 日本経済の安定を達成する手段が金融政策のみであるという主張は支持できない。
This study defines and discusses the statement: "Deflation is a purely monetary phenomenon.
"Even if this statement can be demonstrated to be correct for past experiences of deflation, it is not theoretically correct in general. Some deny that "structural factors" are behind Japan's deflation.
But "structural factors" exist not just on the supply-side but also on the demand-side, and we cannot support the statement that only monetary policy can lead to stability of the Japanese economy.
