Where is the area mentioned in Guan-zi (管子)Di Yuan (地員)? This problem is still in dispute, xia Wei Ying (夏緯瑛) advocated, it was northern China, especially the Huang he (黄河) basin, except Guan zhong (関中).0n the contrary, You YU (友于), Wane Da (王達), and others argued, it was Guan zhong. But in the argumentation, these theories, lacking concrete evidence on the meanings of the names of hills and mountains mentioned in Di Yuan, have remained theories. This paper analyzes them as follows; [table] The surveying point of the level of underground water should not be at the top of the hills/mountains, but the foot, where men could dwell. Then, these landform can be seen only in Shandong (山東) province in China. There also can be seen so many toponyms, similar to the name of hills and mountains in Di Yuan, in Shandong (山東). As a result of the analysis, it is thought that Di Yuan might describe the stiuation in Shantong.
