This article submits to show the origin and processes of the civil service examination in Annan. This article is inclined to agree with the current opinion that the system begins in 1075, but is contrary to the opinion that the system was the reestablishment of the Chinese system introduced to Annan in the Tang period. It is rather reasonable to state that the system is the imitation of the Chinese officialdom of the Sung dynasty. It is interresting to examine the reason why the Annan government of the day took much time to adopt the well organized examination system of the Sung dynasty. In this we must take into account the fact that in the Ly and Trdh dynasty the Buddiest influences interrupted the introduction of the system based on Confucianism. And besides it must be noted that in those times the Annan Annan government had not yet established an well organized political machinery to receive such a highly developed examination system of the Sung dynasty.
