昨年度は, ブルジュ・ベイティン遺跡で実測した遺構全体のプラン図および土器片のトレース作業を集中して行った。遺構の全体図は, 建築層ごとの遺跡の構造を考える上で基礎となる。また, 土器片は, 石製の建材, ガラス器, コインなどとともに遺物の中心的な位置を占めるものである。
これらの図版は, すでに昨年度にも『史学』で公刊された初期報告やアメリカ近東学会(The American Schools of Oriental Research)や日本西アジア考古学会における調査結果の報告でも活用された。また, 本年夏にパレスチナ自治政府観光考古省に提出する予定となっている初期報告でも用いられる予定である。最終的には, 英語版, 日本語版両方で予定されている最終報告書で用いられることとなっている。
We focused on the preparation of figures of the entire plan at Burj Beitin and pottery sherds unearthed from there last year based on the measurement conducted at the site. The former will be bases for distinguishing different building phases of the site while the latter is a nucleus of various artifacts, including carved stones, glass vessels, or coins.
These figures are already employed for a preliminary report published on the Shigaku journal and talks at the American Schools of Oriental Research and Japanese Society for the Archaeology of Western Asia. They are, however, ultimately intended to be used for the final excavation report, which will be published both in Japanese and English.
